Mapping Computer Architectures to Business Processes

The last decade has seen much enthusiasm generated for the notion of integrating business processes tightly with the IT systems which support them. However considerable less effort has been expended in designing the new approaches which are needed to match this lofty ideal. The talk will discuss the issues and review the research work which we have been undertaking at the University of Manchester into the challenges presented by this tightly coupled approach.
About Brian Warboys:

Brian Warboys has been Professor of Software Engineering at the University of Manchester since 1985. Prior to his full-time appointment at the beginning of 1995, he held the Chair half-time, coupling it with his role in ICL as the Senior ICL Fellow. Previously he had worked full-time for ICL since graduating in 1963, was Chief Designer of the VME system during the 70's andwas appointed the first ICL Fellow in 1984.
