The Robots Come Home to Roost

For those who, like Stoke City Council, have invested heavily in large datacentre mainframe installations, the brave new world of 'PC' datacentres appears to be an unmanageable nightmare. This presentation attempts to show how the investment and discipline engendered within mainframe datacentres can be transferred to the distributred datacentre world. We should change our hardware and software not our thinking.
About Dave Longson:

Dave started work with ICL in 1982 straight from Salford University. He has worked on TME and VME and latterly IDMS and TPMS as a consultant. In 1989 Dave began his present job as Assistant Director of Operations at Stoke City Council.
