This talk will explain the various approaches involved in the emulation of the Series39 ordercode and architecture on commodity platforms. It will describe the techniques of interpretation and translation, some of which are currently implemented and others which are either under development or in the initial stages of design. It will also discuss the performance acheivable with the various options.About John Eaton:
John has worked for ICL for almost 35 years and has been responsible for designing at least 7 mainframes starting with 2970. He is currently the chief architect and senior design authority responsible for the subject of the talk. He is also an ICL distinguished engineer.
