Early implementations of intranets relied on an expensive "start again from scratch" approach, discarding existing data, applications and equipment. As intranets become more widely exploited, a more sensible approach is evolving, where the intranet provides an alternative method of accessing data held in existing databases and applications.This session will demonstrate (using a live OfficePower Web system) how OfficePower users are ideally poised to make the transition to an intranet an evolution rather than a revolution. Give your users web-based applications that exploit your existing UDAPs, documents, calendar and mail systems. And at the end of the evolutionary process, what is the web server at the heart of your intranet? It's OfficePower, of course!

Iain has worked for the ICL and/or Fujitsu group of companies since the early Seventies, and has been involved with the development and support of OfficePower for over 10 years.
