YEAR 2000 FOCUS GROUP

Background

This Focus Group provides a forum to exchange experiences and to work with vendors in tackling problems of the Year 2000. At the inaugural meeting on 14th May 1996 members compiled a list of issues to be addressed:

• The production of checklists for both end users and software suppliers covering Standards and "Do's and Don'ts"
• How to raise awareness of senior management (ie awareness success stories)
• Investigation of tools
• Presentations by independent software vendors
• Planning of pilot schemes
• Implications for systems running under FM arrangements
• How to justify cost
• How to share experiences :
