The latest meeting took place courtesy of Solihulll Metropolitan
Borough Council in their council chamber. Does the choice of venue
reflect the importance of the subject? It would be nice to think
so.
The Automobile Association delivered a report on their initial
experience with ICL's Year 2000 Collaborative Release. ICL are keen
to get feedback from such early exposure before putting the product
on general release.
The Corporation of London described their progress so far in
preparing to manage the changes.
Other sites represented at the meeting gave brief reports on their
progress.
A consistent message from the meeting is the lack of positive
feedback from many suppliers as to their commitment to make their
products Year 2000 compliant. The group proposes to compile a record
of responses from suppliers in order to provide an overall
picture
